Who is Miao?

I am Chinese by birth and Swiss by marriage.

I wear many hats, as most of you do.

I am a wife to the kindest man on this planet.

I am an author. I do things worth writing about and I write things worth reading about. My book "8½ Years" depicts a rough and bumpy adventure of my self-awakening journey.

I am an entrepreneur. I have founded several companies and one NGO. My business experience spans many different areas such as marketing, sales, consulting, and logistics over more than 20 years.

I am a speaker; I speak regularly at various occasions to inspire people.

I am a mentor; I mentor people for business issues and personal development through my online courses and off-site workshops.

I am a Qi Practitioner. I practice and promote the Qi Solution, a self-caring, self-healing, and self-forming method that the Chinese have used to preserve health and to attain longevity for thousands of years. It is a simple, safe, and effective method to tackle the stresses of modern life.

Yes, this is my motto.

In fact, it's more than just a motto; it's the driving force behind my daily life. In everything I do, I aim to become a source of inspiration.

My life's goal is to be the inspiration for those who need it.

Wow! You might be thinking, 'It sounds extraordinary!'

Hold on, I'm not the typical superhero with boundless energy, a flawless memory, a razor-sharp, laser-focused analytical mind, and an unyielding drive for constant perfection.

No, I don't possess any of these characteristics.

My secret

I live in a small village (around 7000 inhabitants) on the outskirts of Basel, Switzerland.

I speak Chinese, English, German, and French.

I have a silver tabby British shorthair cat called Dupi (belly in Chinese).

I find my peace and harmony in meditation, reading, and gardening.

My favorite color: pink (yes, still feel like a small girl...)

My favorite sports: Hiking, Dancing, and Taiji

My favorite book: The Alchemist

My favorite movie: The Shawshank Redemption,

With my husband Urs, we enjoy touring and camping in Europe by an old caravan during weekends and holidays.

Some facts about me

My learning

Of course, I've encountered life's ups and downs, just like everyone else. There have been tears, pains, anger, anxiety, disappointment, sorrow, humiliation, hatred, or whatever form of suffering or struggle you can imagine—I've experienced it all.

Yet, I cherish these experiences as they have shaped who I am today. They have ignited a power within me and polished the 'muddy' diamond of wisdom hidden in my heart.

As a result, these invaluable life lessons and wisdom have inspired both my book, '8½ years,' and my career as a mentor and Qi practitioner.

But most importantly, I'm grateful to be able to do what I love every single day.

My passion lies in public speaking and coaching, where I thrive on the inherent energy and enthusiasm. For me, standing on a stage and inspiring people are the most fulfilling and meaningful aspects of my life and my self.

I attribute my achievements to simplifying complex tasks, repeating simple actions consistently with a focused mind, and dedicating myself to a task until successful.

Yes, I have learned and trained myself to accomplish things with this straightforward approach, a valuable mindset for accomplishing goals.

"Treatise On Response And Retribution" by the legendary Taoist leader Senior Moral Laojun. With only 1294 words, it's more a booklet than a book. It is my code of conduct for becoming a virtuous human being.

No one can adequately understand Chinese thought without having read this work. Though being a Chinese, I study this book again and again to grasp the integrity of the individual in thought and action.

Through Morrie's viewpoints about aging and death, I finally realize one thing: relationship is the most important thing in life. "Death ends a life, not a relationship."

I want to become a storyteller due to this book. I am fascinated by the power of language, the magic of storytellling, and the richness of Irish history.
